The Public Ortakoy

From the moment I arrived at The Public Ortaköy, I knew I was somewhere special. Nestled in one of Istanbul’s most vibrant and scenic neighborhoods, this boutique hotel is a perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and genuine Turkish hospitality. What truly set my experience apart were the incredible people who make this place feel like a second home. Semih, with his warm welcome and sharp attention to detail, ensured everything ran smoothly from the first moment. Osman was a true gentleman — always one step ahead, ready with helpful recommendations or just a friendly conversation that made me feel like more than just a guest. And Ali — his energy, kindness, and professionalism added a spark to every morning. Whether it was organizing transport, arranging a perfect breakfast, or making sure every little request was met, the team went above and beyond. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored property, stylish without being pretentious, with rooms that are both modern and rich in character. The views from the terrace and the charm of Ortaköy — steps from the Bosphorus, with its lively cafés, street food, and iconic mosque — make the location unbeatable. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentic, luxurious, and filled with heart, The Public Ortaköy is it. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Istanbul — and after one night here, you won’t want to either.

I really love the location of this hotel as it is right on one of the hills next to the Bosporus Strait , you can breathe in the sea scented air. It is in a very convenient location on the European side so you are really close to both sides . You can even walk to Ortaköy in 10 mins . To the affluent shopping mall Zorlu it’s only 5-7 mins by taxi. I stayed here with my dear pet and there was no difficulty regarding that. I also love the staff ; especially the manager Ali bey and Osman bey are quite helpful and friendly. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay here. It’s my second stay here within a year and I come all the way from Canada. P.S. Since it’s a new building and not very tall I feel safer in terms of earthquakes .

The property itself is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, but it’s the warmth and professionalism of the staff that makes it stand out. The property is very nice and clean. There is 24 hour concierge and daily cleaning. The kitchen is equipped with a stove and some cookware so you can cook if you want to. The property is close to a bus stop and also close to several restaurants and cafes. The location is peaceful and quiet.

An amazing hotel! It truly feels like home, right in the heart of the city yet so peaceful and quiet. The bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen and living area were as thoughtfully designed and cozy as any home. Also the shared terrace area was so peaceful and beautiful. The location is very central and within a 15 minute walk you can reach the Ortaköy Bosphorus shore and the ferry pier. Ali at the reception was incredibly attentive and welcoming, always ready to help. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend it.
